Mum survived being strafed by a German fighter plane as she walked alongside the railway line at Sturry (Boy was she in trouble with Great Grandad Stewart who had told her not to go near the line), she was ill when some her classmates were amongst the 15 killed by a bomb on the village, and she survived hurtling down a steep hill with failed brakes and me sitting on the back.  She always said if she could survive that everything else was a bonus!  More adventures followed and may appear here at a later date.
